@MarkBrown Dude, first I want to thank you for having me on the list. I honestly feel immensely honored to be in the same post as these fine people. Second, since this is a psychology thread, I also want to teach you about projection. Chat GPT, what is projection? "Projection is the process of displacing one’s own feelings or traits—especially those considered unacceptable—onto someone else, often without awareness. For example, someone who is hostile might accuse others of being aggressive toward them." Of course the projection is that you are doing precisely what you mention in your post. Your views on the market are fully fueled by your own projections of trump and whatever void he fills in you. You are addressing yourself in this post, not us. It's all very hilarious, but honestly, the rest of us are just trying to make money.
Thank you for finally dropping the essence of your convictions. I can live with that. The US has been a mixed bag of projections to the world. For a couple of centuries it was known as the land of opportunity, draining nations of their entrepreneurs, their religious bigots and a fair number of thugs and opportunists. Post WWII it projected liberty and freedom, protection from evil dictators and communism, the chosen land of the chosen people. This was the Hollywood era, the origin of global media, projecting dreams, convincing all that evil could never conquer as long as America the protector was vigilant. Patriotic fervor was at its highest, probably as an effort to keep hearts and minds away from what was going on in Vietnam. America was bigger than life.. Big people in big cars, big houses filled with lots of things like TVs and large refrigerators and washing machine and dryer and lawn mowers. The rest of the world looked with envy, jealousy or disdain at this opulence that they certainly didn't have. But they now had a model of success they could measure themselves against. They worked hard, through mazes of cultural and political and economic challenges and, by the end of the 20th century, some could finally not only compete with, but beat Americans at their best, product manufacturing. The 70s through 2k was the true downfall of the US. Between the social reaction to the Vietnam war, the little challenged economic success, full employment, massive inflow of drugs, created this happy go lucky cultural mentality from large swathes of the population; America became the world's mecca of hedonism, sex drugs and rock'n'roll. College was too much effort, unions provided good paying jobs and the future looked so bright everyone wore shades. Complacency killed the goose. By the time Europe and Japan became economic threats challenging US production domination, US began to divest theirs to cheaper labor countries. The 21st century was about globalism, trading each other's skills to increase overall efficiency. To be real, it was corporate America's unwillingness to challenge unions' ever increasing cost of labor and the easier solution to export manufacturing to low cost nations and culminated with a Republican administration welcoming China into the WTO. We are all familiar with the rest of the story. China wasn't going to simply let western nations set up shop in their country to sell western brands made by cheap Chinese labor. The allure of unheard of profit margins from China made goods shipped back to the US essentially killed American manufacturing. Profits grew, C level and union pay packages exploded, the financial markets grew wildly, the Western world and America in particular became wealthier by vertu of the continuous flow of lower cost goods. Less work, more things .. the American dream! How far low have we gone that we're now contemplating fascism as a reasonable option to take America back to some illusory greatness due to circumstances more than anything else, other than perhaps the drive of its immigrants. And isn't it ironic that the wanabe president for life considers immigrants persona non grata, expecting perhaps that US passport holders will pickup the manufacturing work that he's promising is coming back.
Mark has been sniffing the AI again. He's like the liberals calling everyone racist then calling the cops the moment they see a black guy in the neighborhood. Accusing everyone else of being guilty of the thing that he personifies.
The only ones with dementia are on the left. If Trump does not run the USA, why are the idiots on the left challenging every executive order he issues? After all, he is not in charge and whatever he does, does not count. You make absolutely no sense.
its so sad that the only likes the guy gets are the same few lunatics that are also on the cry baby list. kinda confirms the groupies of des stay together like a hyenine pack.
Political beliefs often cloud logic. I myself have often caught myself in emotions instead of cold analysis.
