“The war should be a tremendous opportunity for America.” —J.P. Morgan, personal letter to President Woodrow Wilson, September 4, 1914 Because the US bankrolled both sides in WWI allowing the great war go long past it's natural term. The debts of this brought WWII after a fashion. I'm afraid all any country has is moments of collective "heroism", the next moment something dark. I am from both sides of the pond and I can say for sure, your generation particularly is full of shit and ignorance of history.
These lefties are indoctrinated. They seem to be influenced by the hate america branch of Socialism. Lend lease, oil, ships, planes. Multiple fronts in Europe, Africa and the Pacific. I am not even sure Russia would have won if Hitler did not have to split his forces to fight our factories, oil and men. Can you imagine what would have been left of Europes industrial centers after the Germans continued to bomb the hell out of them. What about when their Nukes were ready. Russia would be a nuclear wasteland. Perhaps the UK too, if it survived that long. Just insanity on the part of the lefties here. Without Ameica's participation Slarti could have been a serf for Germany or had two heads. We just don't know. I just can't even imagine the death toll and devastation which would have surely happened because the fighting would not have ended swiftly and the Germans were making bombs and rockets.
No no no.... Britain would have fell after being bombed into submission. France never would have been liberated. And Russia would have been overwhelmed by superior technology eventually. That supply-line thing to/from Moscow works both ways. Had we waited a year, the whole f'n continent would be goose-stepping and eating strudels. In that regard you can say Japan saved Europe by making the decision for us.
Oddly enough the US was a boon and a curse in WWI but did end it in a way. April 1917 to November 11, 1918 was the US' action time. A very very big reason for it's end was the megadeath pandemic that took out 20-50 million people and infected 1/3 of the world. Private Albert Martin Gitchell, a company cook at Camp Funston in Kansas was patient zero for what somehow became known as the 'Spanish' influenza. Spreading from there to Europe it pretty much ended WWI fast.
If the US had not entered the war what was next? "We are fighting the Nazis over there so we don't have to fight them here". Germany would have nukes, the US none or way behind and the US would have been goose-stepping. Hitler was well on his way to developing his "America Bomber". It was to carry their first nukes. The US generals were obsessed with the for practical purposes useless "Norden bomb sight"... It was the Brits (and Danish via Niels Bohr's contribution) through project "Tube Alloys" that got things fired up with the Manhattan project. If the Brits had not been sabotaging Germany's research programs.. The man in the high castle awaited.
I've only read the book but must see the original and newest version of the series when I am retired... Young CaptainObvious there?
Nah, their missile systems were years from carrying a warhead, the Brits were decimating their top aces, and they were nowhere near being nuke capable. They had neither the resources nor man power to see it through. The ruskies had that shit on lock.
Instead they get to listen to mosques blaring out calls to prayer while Africans colonize their cities and rape their women. Eastern Europe got the booby prize of 40 years of communist repression. Wonder if they would have preferred hitler? Ironically, they seem to be the only ones with any sense of self preservation now.
I recon KKK is of German ancestry. The thinking that leads one to say ah yes, this caused that in a complex system is who so very few on this site (quiet lurkers aside) make any money. America can thank France for keeping Britain busy giving them an easy escape. Corsica says America can thank them as Napoleon was from there. Bla bla bla. Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. Albert Einstein Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first. Charles de Gaulle Patriotism is not an abstract concept. It begins from one's own home. It buds out from the love for one's parents, spouses and children, the love for one's own home, village and workplace, and further develops into the love for one's country and fellow people. Kim Jong-un Yeah.. next.
