Perhaps my pattern recognition skills are better on charts than real life.. but after watching the latest Pokerstars 'We are poker' ad, I couldn't help notice the distinct similarities between that and the popular trading video produced by Opentrader. Both propaganda with the exact same 'we are proud, fearless traders/poker players in all our glory' theme. To be clear, nothing wrong with that imo, zero sum games like Poker and trading attract fish/new money with help from excessively glamorized ads like these. I don't know who produced those ads, but they both appear to be descendants of the classic ad slogan from the 1970's and still in use, "The few, the proud, the Marines." Youtube has examples. Adventure, special identity and risk taking are the common themes. Things that are especially appealing to young men.
