  1. Anybody know where to play Civilization 3 for money?
I'd crush anyone who'd dare challenge me.

If you play poker often and from what I've read many of you are, you are paying hundreds, maybe even thousands in rake each month. Rake is the cut out of each pot the casino takes for dealing the games. Its just like the trading and clearing cost you'd like to keep as low as possible.

If you average more than 8 hours a week at the tables we need to talk.

I can cut at least 10% off the rake you are paying, and you can still play at your favorite sites.

  7. Hmm, well, just finished my 10th SNG at the $10 table, no limit. Results (in order):

    4,1,2,3,5,3,6,5,9,8

I'm feeling extremely lousy after those last 4 losses. Also my profit on the $10 table was a little less than the $5. So it is definitely tougher than the $5 table. So I will stick with this table for a while.

One comment from the Sklansky books that rings true in trading: when he talks about how a player should only rarely use a fancy play, that top players such as himself are accused of being boring players.

  8. Just out of curiousity does anybody know Sklanskys track record. Ive never seen him in any tournements or heard his name mentioned.

True, especially in low-limit and early stages of micro NL games, where the bet size and the miniscule consequence of a loss will not have any impact on players' psychology.

This is a great thread--hats off to TraderNik. I took me a while to catch up since registration at ET.

I started Hold'Em more or less at the same time this thread was initialled. I played at fake money table, real money table (low-limit) and micro NL table and tourneys (SNG and multi-talbe). The biggest lesson I learned, as it relates to trading, is to wait patiently and don't force action (fancy play, as Peter said) when conditions are not right.
