The people against removing God from the pledge seem to say that "most people believe in God and therefore it is OK."

I say... have the Treasury take a poll of religious preference in America. Then we will put the appropriate "god" in the appropriate proprtion to the popillation.

    e.g.
    12% In Alah we Trust
    22% In God we trust
    8% In Buddah we Trust
40% " God is Dead" Nietzsche

Then we can make the pledge read...
"One nation... under my diety of choice or no diety at all.
    For which it stands..."

Or we could just say that the treasury should not be involved in religion? And either should the schools.

If it was done "ILLEGALLY" ...how can this have been done Illegally??? I'm sorry for my ignorance on this issue, but I find it hard to believe that this was done Illegally..im sure it was done thru a process ( was it a correct process?? maybe not but illegally, nah ).........forget about them paying to change it back they should be thrown in jail to rott if it was done illegally.......

  3. While i was amused at your post, you bring up an interesting point....we all assume that "Under GOD" is a specific god and that it consitutes religion and therefor should be out of public schools....yet can somebdoy please show me where in the original constituion Public schools for free were set up??????

  4. Laws have been passed that were later found
    to be unconstitutional.

The "under god" and "in god we trust" was added
during the anti-communism hysteria era, and no one
challenged it as unconstitutional UP FRONT, when they should have,
    so it just happened.

This is what I mean by "illegally". They still followed the correct
    process to my knowledge.

But at the time atheism was associated with communism, and
it would have been suicidal for anyone to take a stand to block this at the time.

The ORIGINAL pledge and money should be RE-INSTATED.

I don't think people should be thrown in jail just because
they successfully passed an unconstitutional law.

The law is complex, and this happens fairly regularly.
