Please review new day trading system with 6 monitors.

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by ChrisTinaBruce, Mar 2, 2013.

  1. I actively trade the e mini and a few select equities every day on TradeStation platform. I am upgrading from a 100 GB hard drive, 4 GB Ram, 3 monitor system to a trading only system. I developed the build here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/H0Nj and would appreciate any critics. Do I have the right comments, to much Ram, etc?

I will be using 6 DVI monitors I already have and this system will only be for trading. No internet surfing, etc. I do trade everyday and have about 6 workstations active all day.

    Thanks for any in sight.

  2. You might have more RAM than you really need (check Task Manager).

You don't need that much grunt from video cards... Are you sure you can run 3-monitors from one card? Just because a card has 3-ports, doesn't necessarily mean you can run 3-monitors.

Why do you need to upgrade?

Check your current CPU and memory usage (task manager). Is it possible to upgrade the RAM in your current machine (if needed) and add another graphics card?

Get a tablet or laptop if you just want a separate machine for web surfing.

  4. google "Chris Tina Bruce" and tell me what you come up with :D

Please say that isn't you :D

  5. I dont get it... does it matter his/her sexuality when it comes to trading and if you will answer the question or provide advice?

  6. simply put, based on what you are stating... it is overkill...you dont need an E3...

I would suggest you review the following few threads..

Why you need 6 monitors, why cannot you just buy a big screen TV(LCD) and use it as a 2nd monitor. Few pro.traders I know use big screen TV as secondary monitors.

  10. b/c most of the time a larger tv has a much lower resolution as a smaller computer monitor so you're seeing the same amount of stuff.
