Hello to all, I am very new to stocks and dividends. I found a stock that is having a special one time dividend (ticker CBM). The special dividend is payable May 3 to shareholders of record as of April 20. I bought this stock on April 16 and have plans to sell it on April 23 or 24. I thought I could make a quick buck this way, but after reading some web sites on dividends, and this board, I am now questioning my decision. Did I made a mistake? Will I be eligible for the dividend if I sell on April 23 or 24? Is there anything I need to know to better understand the ins and outs of these special one time dividends?
