For a few (probably really bad) reasons, I decided to switch the system over to trade the ER2 until I either blow out due to the volatility, or until it moves to ICE. And yes, it is the same system with the same set of parameters as I have been using since inception. If you thought some of my YM swings were entertaining, wait untill you see what happens on the ER2.

  3. Same parameters? I.E. 40 pt stop and 8 pt target? Or 40 x 8 TICKS (since ER2 ticks are 0.1 pt)?

Once your stop or target has been hit, how do you know when to get into the next trade? (I understand if you don't want to reveal the full inner workings of your system). I am testing a similar mechanical system on the YM, but with different parameters.

  4. Why did you decide to switch to the ER2?

Hah, nothing quite like catching just over a point on a day with such a huge range.

It only trades a maximum of once per day, so it should be clear from the trade history that I'm not using those as parameters. I aim to find trend days and take advantage of them. I happen to find a lot more than strong trends, and I occasionally miss one also, but what are you gonna do?

Honestly it was mainly due to the fact that I would have to pay 60/mo for YM data and I don't want to do that. I had always intended this to be traded on the ER2, but since I started off with such a small account, I traded YM to make it easier to survive the initial swings. I think I can survive them now, so I switched when I was given a reason to switch.
