I've talked to a few friends about my start in playing the game and I didn't know there's a lot of bridge playing traders who are successful in Chicago. I'm still a newbie but I'm starting to see why...
I wonder if MJ plays Bridge... or... I wonder how much basketball players play bridge... (note: NBA is the only American sports I follow...)
i doubt nba'ers play bridge; the acbl makes a big deal when they hear anyone 'famous' playnig bridge, and they've never mentioned it... bridge used to be *the* thing to do among baseball players, probably up until the 50s? oh, in the bridge mag, they mentioned bill gates' playing, omar sharif (who is quite good), wilt chamberlain (used to), and barry crane (mission impossible; again, used to) was the best player in the world for a stretch. i often read of people who place in the money at tournaments who are traders on the floor, or for a brokerage...
Omar is a decent player. Barry was the KING of matchpoints until his (still) unresolved murder. nitro
