Pivot Points for Index Futures?

    I have seen e-mails and calculations for support and resistance and also pivot points.

    What exactly is a pivot point and how can they be used in trading?

    common amog floor traders just a simple calculation

    then you use the Pivot ans s1 s2 s3 and R1 r2 r3

    S=support
    r= resistant
