I am using Omnitrader as my trade system. Very nice system by the way, but I am still learning it... In the program it has pivots, that I have turned on. So my screen has all the pivots plotted on it. Looks very nice... What I don't know is...are these computer trading systems plotting the same pivots as you get when you figure out the pivot points using the open, high, low, close, from a pivot calculator that you would find on the internet? To make a long story short, I don't know if I am looking at the same info as other traders using pivot points? However, after watching the pivot points on my computer system for awhile now, I like them and can see how they could really help a trader! Thanks snarlyjack
Why not try the search function on this web site? There are at least 10 threads on Pivot Points. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/searc...y=lastpost&sortorder=descending&pagenumber=48
snarlyjack, you may ask the Omni support guys about the formula the product uses to calculate pivots. Pivot Strategies: A Handy Tool http://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/05/FXpivots.asp
Easy to figure out - calculate using the standard formula and compare it to your software. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=pivot+point+calculation&btnG=Google+Search
Wow Guy's, I ended up going to Pivot Point Calculator on the net, punching in the current numbers and surprise of surprises it's dead on with Omnitrader. Who would have thunk that! Thanks for all your help!!! snarlyjack
