Ping times for Dialup/Broadband users

  1. I'd like to get an idea of the different ping times for dialup users out there (and broadband as well).

To keep things consistent, please do this:

Click 'Start' then 'run' and enter:

In the DOS window that comes up you'll get a line:

    Reply from bytes=32 time=230ms TTL=50

This shows me that my ping time is 230 miliseconds, which I think is slow. Whoever reads this, if you wouldn't mind posting your ping time, and the type of internet connection you have, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks alot,

I get 51ms. Don't know if good or bad. Cable internet.
  3. Mine is showing time= 15ms
DSL via SBC in N. California
  4. I get 47...DSL from Bellsouth in FL
  5. 34ms. DSL, Verizon, Boston. MA.
  6. 24 ms, Verizon DSL, Eastern PA
  7. Sheesh!! I guess I AM slow!!!

I was suspicious, but had no idea the difference was that big!

I pinged my internet providers' internet address. Got 24ms. I think it depends how far you are from a server.
