PIGS: the Achilles heel of the EU

    That's a good one!

    Sadly, this acronym will not make it into serious research puiblications any time soon. The country is officially called the United Kingdom, sometimes it's unoficially referred to as Great Britain. Calling the whole thing England would be like rubbing salt into wounds of nationalists.

  5. California, the 8th largest economy on the planet, pays out state and municipal retirement benefits to widows/widowers of the retired/ now deceased state worker. (sorry, kidney stones are acting up and I've got opiates on board..dunno how to phrase things..)
