So that guy seemed very smug to me, interruptive and vapid on policy. If he is disagreed with some of the assertions in the question then he should have waited for the gentleman to finish to rebut. He isn’t doing much beyond what Elon Musk does when confronted with assertions he doesn’t like. The difference is Musk isn’t running for office and it doesn’t make a difference if he’s contemptuous. Anyway that’s my take. I don’t know Canadian policy well enough to judge his economic proposal beyond it sounding cliche.
I didn’t make it through the article’s first paragraph before a giant red flag came up. Retiring to the US without being Medicare eligible is almost impossible. I can’t see even the dumbest Canadian actually trying that.
I think that the point of the article was more about people wanting to get out of Canada. Do-ability is a whole nuther can of worms. Similarly, there are countless articles (and there will be another flood if Trump is elected) about Americans flat out stating that they are going to move to Canada. Their sentiment is one thing, but doing it is not easy as they think. All the lefties think Canada is like some kind of lefty immigration paradise for them, unlike ugly American that puts up (or used to) barriers for much immigration. Dream on. Canadian immigration is by invitation and approval or very specific needs or from a French speaking country or a Commonwealth country. These clowns here who trade crypto and have no skills and think Canada suddenly wants them if Trump is elected would have a rude awakening if they ever tried it. Not only that, Quebec has a whole different set of rules. He lives in the Okanagan Valley which is pretty close to the U.S. border but I don't think he could travel back across to Canada for free or paid-up healthcare Most provinces have rules that say it lapses after 18 months or so if you are not resident. Whereas, I think- but am not sure- that with Medicare if you were living in Canada but were a medicare eligible retiree, you could cross the border for healthcare under medicare if you are paid up for Part B etc. I think that to get away from the wokeness he will find that that is why God created Alberta for Canadians. And it is just the next province over for him.
He backed vax mandates. He has NEVER said a word about the harms of the vaccine. This is the real deal: https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/ Maxime Bernier (sp?)
I read this but all I heard was a loud, whining sound mixed with a painful screech. I'll have to check my speakers.
You have a choice. you can back candidates that have a chance of winning that will institute much of what you like, but not all, or you can put your weight behind fringe candidates that push every single thing you like, but will never have a chance of making it. Same in the US.
so, a choice between Trudeau and Poilievre, who are both neck-deep in the uniparty and at least TRYING to vote for freedom? I'll take freedom anyday.
Supply of money, "government printing" is the only thing he considers, if his public statements are to be believed. And most money by far is "printed" by commercial banks and other credit institutions, another fact he's apparently unaware of. But this is simple stuff, so I think he's just being the paid opposition, paid peanut gallery-sniper, an appealing voice to the ignorant, frightened masses.
