This thing is pretty much going to be blowing out all our trading stations anyways.

And it will run linux... YES

Now someone just has to hack it to get Windblows XP on it and figure out how to do multi-monitor support and we are rocking baby!

Yes, for people who trade TA signals there is an analogy. Online video games where any number of people can play are known as MMOG, massively multiplayer online games. Dynamic live game feedback demands experiential learning relying on failure, negative experience, to drive proper responses, positive behaviors, to success. This is the similarity. There is work going on that is essentially a derivaitve of fighter pilot and ground troops simulation games, positive /negative feedback. The brain's heat areas ,patterns can be seen to be different in successful players. Soon enough part of that job interview at GS will have you on a simulator with your brain being recorded. No different really than the NFL pre draft workouts.

  4. hehe, I have a few buddies that are into that kind of stuff, hacking & cracking, reverse engineering software and hardware.

I personally don't know how they do it, it amazes me sometimes.

I'm still getting a PS3 though hehe. I might go ahead and mod my original Xbox, since I don't really have time for video games that much anymore, could be a fun project over a weekend.

I wish we had some more people post some pictures of their actual trading stations or update us on any newer ones :)

I like seeing how others do it.

Bring on more pictures people if you got 'em!!!

  5. Added 2 screens to my setup, now have 6 in total.

They're all connected to 1 computer, and the 3.2 ghz cpu is now the bottleneck. I'm thinking to add 2 more, but I'm afraid that this setup lacks enough computer power to support all my l2's and charts..

  7. Damn! You are a lucky bastard. Hey I noticed you have a ben Q, are those any decent? I ask because I know they are cheap at Costco, but my last cheap Costco monitor has flicker, it's at $200 19" LCD Septre DCL.

  9. I started with these benq's (fp937s+), because they got a lot of good reviews and awards and are indeed relatively cheap. Then I bought 2 Samsung's 930BF's, these were a little bit more expensive and I was a bit amazed to see that after comparing them, the benq even was slightly better ! Then I wanted 2 more and since I couldn't attach the monitors on the DVI (i only have 3 dvi ports), i decided to go for an ever cheaper model (without DVI), the samsung 920N. This monitor costs 230 euro's in the Netherlands (the benq costs 280 and the 930BF costs 310 euro, hardware prices are lower in the US by the way, as you can see, especially with that Euro at 1.28, damn.. :) ) and for office applications (like trading software) you really don't see any difference at all ! Only difference I saw was when playing movies, the 920N suffers from some 'backlight leakage, but there's no way you'll notice it when trading :) It's really 'sharp', contrast, colours and brightness are perfect, no ghosting at all, so, for a trading setup, I highly reccomend that relatively cheap samsung 920N.

A trading tip. Buy the stocks of the companies that make LCD monitors. It seems that there is a big competition going on increasing the number of monitors. Now I feel like a shit that I trade using only a laptop . You have to see the increase in your return by increasing the number of your monitors otherwise ....
I don't look at the charts when I trade. I just focus on 10 stocks and QQQQ and SPY. Thats it. I got 84% last year on 100K account. I look at the chart after the market is closed to find the best trade for the next day. By the way, I am not a full time trader and I get very busy in my job.
I believe Mastero is increasing the monitors to impress his customers and get more business. I would do the same if I were him. You buy two more monitors for $1000 and get one million dollar more. Good deal hun?
