I would swear that was the same room I was in when I was abducted last year by Aliens. Maestro must be an Alien...
what I noticed is how the screens covered up all the beautiful woodwork....I think you should remove the woodwork and put it in a space where it will show off (ie library). The background should be a soft neutral grey or warm white or dark color.
I use dual monitors (2) and a single and a TV. 6 screens. The set up is in a corner with the 4 inner screens forming the 90 degree arc. On the wings are a TV and a single backup. I have another dual that is on the other side of the room and I use it for communications and editing. Everything is CRT so the front arc is at 68cm (my glasses are set to this as well) and there is a continuous desk level shelf slightly below the plywood level of the surface that supports the CRT's. This surface was initially adjustable until I determined the least muscular movement level (which is very important for continuous trading). CRT's are enclosed and an exhaust fan cools everything. The surface enclosure above the screens is used for references as are the four books shelves (8' long going to 10' ceiling) Roughly the same shelving on opposite wall (replaced story board wall). Shelves are suspended on chains front and back every 30". Totally adjustable vertically with metal pegs through the links. shelf fronts faced with 1x2's for stiffness. 70 to 80 books per shelf. All keyboards are on slides below the desk level shelf. Left to right, screens are used for: 1 upper Tables with 12 columns whose rows are fixed for indicators and cash. STR/SQU is here numerically. Tables with 12 columns whose rows for stocks are variable according to % change of cummulative daily volume. BO stocks rise to top 1 to 1 1/2 hour before price BO. 7's at top, 0's in middle and 1's at bottom 1 lower Lower part of screen is TWS on left and ES DOM to right. 2. money screen. Left side commodities graphics. With YM (2 min w/strsqu lines) closest to ES Dom on screen 1. Here are Gaussians and R2R (B2B). ES (5min) above. Right side partial overlapped "owned" streams of capital (top to bottom: price, volume, MACD, slow Stoch ,fast stoch) Left side of chart: current move right siderojected action area (which moves towards left). I use grabascreen here and camtasia with audio. 3. Hot screen Table at top (see 1.) Work station for all practical purposes. Has web resource orientation and stored graphics. Monitoring a load of potential opporunities which require full annotation etc., which takes up screen space widthwise until annotated. 4. more of same. I run charts across two screens on most fractals grab and cam also. 5. wing screen is backup and usable as phone link (non cable) Sort of a wasted unused space but I do have files there for reference. 0. TV on left wing. Off usually except for breaking news. All log sheets are arranged between mice and their reference 3 rings are above CRT's To left of set up and under architectual boards are five file cabinets with archived 3 rings and prints files, etc. A pair of printers are above the CRT's 4 and 5. They have fax and scan capabiltiy on a switched basis to PC's. Phones are below sliding keyboards. There is a floating desk top computer as well. Architectural lighting sources infinitely moveable to add to high windows which back light. Waterfalls are within hearing distance; so is AF military base. Set up (10'x 20') is in separate building (20x60) that has a few uses each in separate quiet room work spaces.
Hi Maestro: That's a very impressive set up. I used to have a place at Palace Pier. That was before the internet days. I had a FM Signal datafeed from the CN Tower. One feed, one computer, one monitor, and two phones for calling in the orders. I had a second computer to do the spreadsheet and bookkeeping. The computers were not connected because networking was not invented yet. I have a picture somewhere; I have to dig it up. I could only trade in the morning because the afternoon sun gets into my eyes. It was a great view overlooking the lake though. Helen
Did you focus a lot on the floor sound levels?? where did your calls hit the market?? near the floor?
My home office at home. I use a laptop on the side also which I use for mainly news email and messaging. I day trade mainly mini futures and also the futures fx markets.
