Not so much trading stations but here's some workstation / gamer setup porn for you: http://www.reddit.com/r/battlestations
23 19" monitors driven by 4 Dell Workstations. Used for the development and deployment of automated systems for US Futures markets.
Oh fuck, that is an insane amounts of screens. Especially for automated stuff. More than me and my 2 people use for auto dev. Whow. Impressed.
He did not say running, but development. I can se a use for some. * We plan to trade here 15 markets (less now, the new Hardware and Software we just put into use allows us to optimize backtesting and optimization operationally - no more Manual schduling, all coming from a central grid). That is 16 views (1 per market, 1 total) to see where we are Position wise. * Add to that some history etc- then a 4 Screen "control view" can make sense, especially if you add backtest etc. Systems (check whether all nodes are operationa, working, Tasks are not stuck and the whole infrastructure works, add some ping times to VPN's, Brokers etc. and you are fine). * Then tehre is development, and while I Can see a Need for some Screens, I think that is seriously challenging it. 2-3 Screens here work very fine. More - no idea.
Twenty three screens and associated hardware must have busted the housewares budget because it looks like the ice tea is consumed from a former spaghetti sauce jar.
