Thanks! There is One computer running all the displays that is tucked away behind the displays. Then the laptop isn't really part of the trading system. The black box sniffs out the noob traders and determines where their stops are and directs my systems to take them out . Really, just it's a little amplifier to power the speakers for the PC or the xbox which on occasion is displayed on the LCD TV. My PC Build : ASUS P8P67 PRO I7 2600K 3.4G Running at 5GHz 16GB - 4Gx2|G.SKILL F3 CORSAIR 120GB SSD
Why does this look familiar... I take it that you intentionally chose to use that keyboard instead of using the black Dell ones.
The letters and numbers on Dell keyboards get erased or disappear if you press it too much. After trading a bazillion shares using a Dell keyboard, some of the keys are missing letters! Lol. Also, the left mouse button won't come back up. It's permanently depressed half way. I think I left mouse clicked a million times at least. I prefer vocal commands. Like, Buy 5,000 QQQQ. Touch screen commands might be good. Actually, vocal commands could be problematic. Mental commands are best. Like think Buy 5,000 QQQQ and your order is sent and executed. Might need to wear a helmet like Magnito. The evil dude from X-Men.
My trade station only consists of a cell phone. Here is how I trade... " hey jerk off, buy me 1000 shares of Qcom at the offer".
What looks familiar? The keyboard? Or the office? Keyboard wise, older mechanical keyboards are in abundance at the firm.. nearly every desk uses one. However, I have the option of using something more modern from Logitech... but I choose to stick with the mechanical keyboard. The only reason some of the traders use logitech keyboard from our hardware pool would be the extra keys that can be binded to functions within our system... since we can only bind F1-12 to execute preset orders on the old clunkers. Personally, I plan on keeping my old mechanical keyboard.. even if they end up replacing the lot... soon I'm going to give it a coat of paint around the outer bezel... pimp-my-keyboard style
Is that a Model M? just a thought, you could a x-keys strip for adding hotkey functions to your classic kb. -sj
lol.. it's a keytronic knock-off of the Model M... I'm going to go hunting in thrift stores for Model Ms to replace it.. I'd love to have a good old clacker like that classic around the office.
