Thanks for your informative reply. Shall look into the models as suggested by you. How about the latest slim models, any idea of their performance?
This is at the firm... Yes, I know the keyboard looks old, but there's a good reason to use mechanical type keyboards vs the newer/common membrane keyboards when trading.
I love the old clunker keyboards. Can't trade on anything else. Got to have the F-keys in 3 blocks of 4 keys. Plus they'll take a real beating.
jfranco, that was neat, looks like you attached the typewriter to computer as shown here: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/08/usb-typewriter-pc/. Did you purchase it or assemble yourself?
After recently shaking another serving of trader's trail mix from my vintage 1986 IBM Model M, I am pleased to have discovered a device that ensures my baby keeps on clicking at least another 25 years:
I use two IBM keyboards, not as old as NoDoji's. 2001 and 2007. Black, never skip a beat, Wired simply WORKS
I never.. never use wireless keyboards/mice. Why introduce more points of failure and input delay? Especially when trading?
Agree on points of failure however modern OS allows for more than one mouse and keyboard input. A lot of the guys I know will keep wired keyboard/mouse plugged in and use wireless/bluetooth keyboard-mouse combo. If you are manually trading and you need the precision of one tick via mouse you probably shouldn't be manually trading.
Didn't know there was anything other than this.... On the wireless - tried a setup w/ wireless mouse & keyboard - found out that: - I didn't need the freedom - they're always in the same spot anyway ... - battery on either keyboard or mouse seemed to die during times when they really needed to be running ... R
