  2. Not exotic from a trading point of view. I don't trade every day. However I use a treadmill desk. Whenever I'm at my desk, I'm walking at 1 mph to preserve coordination for keyboarding, mousing and writing.

  4. Since I took this picture a local TV station come to the house to interview me. The reporter had spoken with the manufacturer and the manufacture gave her my name from his data base of registered owners.

For your amusement. Howard and his treadmill desk

  6. Going on about six weeks.

Results: Giving my friends a good laugh when they see the video. No more energy slumps. Increased appetite. Improved concentration. Some weight loss, although that was not my major goal.

When deskbound, I used to get up and walk around after about an hour. With a home office, the refrigerator is just too handy. Now I'm at my desk for two, three or four hours at a stretch. I don't count momentary pauses to get something off the printer in another room. And I no longer fall asleep during lectures I attend over the internet.

  8. Ok, here is mine. The system is 18 screens total, 2 high, shaped like a "C" so the pic sees the back of the 2 on each end, and you can't see the 2nd pair on each end at all in the pic.

All told, there are 17 22" LCD's + the one 17" laptop LCD. There are 2 maxxed memory, overclocked Core2 Quad and Duo towers, each with 3 PCIe dual head DVI cards, and 5 evga USB to DVI adapters for the rest. One tower is dedicated to Tradestation with 10 screensd total, and the other to TOS with 7. The laptop runs a 2nd TOS setup, TD Ameritrade and IB. I have 3 UPS systems and a spare laptop, screens and spare 3 dualhead videocard Core2 quad tower, just in case.

I built the screen mounting system myself, all joined, glued and screwed red oak, and attached to the oak desk and bookcase system, with an ergo swivel chair in the middle.

PS: the pic shows it with 1 22" screen missing (it was over on the other desk with the spare tower), and with the 2nd laptop there on the desk in its place. Obviously I need to swivel the chair a bit to see the last set of screens on either end.

Any particular reason why you chose not to stack 3 high instead - my inclination is to stack 3 high on next upgrade but I am wondering if you are factoring in something I may have missed. Third level would basically be radarsreen type alert grids at low resolution.

  10. Its already pretty far to read the 2nd level. They can't be too far away or they will get hard to read. Also, you would need to make sure you wouldn't be straining your neck to look up like that. I guess if you didn't have a desk, and the other 2 levels were lower, it might work.

In all honesty, lately I'm not really utilizing all the screens because these days I'm typically only trading 3 different issues, and have pretty much abandoned trading the others. Given that, 8 to 10 screens would be enough, with 2 screens per issue and a couple more for ancillary stuff (like trading the different accounts, news, web, etc).

It doesn't matter as long as it helps you make money and doesn't cause you physical pain, LOL.
