  1. SIIG "USB to VGA" adapter... list price $69.99 each but can be had for as low as $40 on sale at times. I have a couple of those. Works fairly well. Light weight. Good for travelling.

  2. No, but attaching 2 monitors to a laptop isn't mobile. For the price of multiple heads to go, I bought a refurb backup desktop from dell, you wouldn't beleive the specs, it's much faster than my HP dual core laptop. BTW my laptop can attach 1920x1200 monitor, then I have 2 monitors, not to mobile tho...

  3. gotta look at the software setup again of my dualHead2Go to try to avoid the maximize button invading the other screen like prev poster said. Thanks for the heads up.

The USB to VGA seems slow for daytrading stuff like tick charts. I bought one such thing at bestbuy and returned it soonafter since the apps seems to get stuck and needed to be repainted . It is ok for slow /static stuff like Ms Word in one screen and Excel in another (at least from my experience).

The dualhead2go is really for expanding a single laptop screen into 2 additional screens. If you have a desktop you'd be better off buying the actual PCI cards with 2 seprate vga/dvi ports.

  4. These USB to VGA gadgets work for me. About as good as a regular video card in a PCIeX16 slot. Real time chart updates okay. Tick for tick. I have seen the repaint problem you mentioned. As it turned out, it was specific to that one USB port on that one computer I have. After I move the gadget to a different computer, no problem. I never needed to investigate why it didn't work for that first computer.

  5. USB 1.1 vs. USB 2.0 ports? Quite often, computers have both, and there is no difference in physical appearance between them, of course.

Spacetrip, you have a nice desk. I like the total setup and love the vertical lookalike monitor - the second from the left.

  8. Nice setup, but you do know what TOS has a built in CNBC window in their platform right?. Dual screens are the best!, I'd never go back to single screen again.

  10. TOS charts are ok. A little bloated though with a million features, so its a little slow at times to navigate and what not..
