  1. Why? Are we comparing the size of our wallets? LOL!

I am only a tiny fish in the vast ocean. Let's say that I make comfortably better than a technology worker job. Which is why I quit.

Added benefit: No more spending 2 hours everyday in senseless bumper-to-bumper commutes.

And no more stupid office politics. Nobody is doing anything but everybody is demanding status reports... And shirts and ties are never for me anyway...

  2. It's gotten pretty good in the summer. But think about the heating costs I have saved in the winter. LOL!

  3. no problem.

I got the PC as a refurbished unit from Dell - its an Optiplex 755 with a dual core 3.0ghz processor, vista but downgraded to XP Pro (32-bit) with 4GB RAM. All up was about $500 with extra RAM, backup, etc.

Stand is an Ergotron unit a tripple. Fits up to three 21 (maybe 22") monitors - but mine are 17". Stand was just under $300 shipped to me.

Video card is a Matrox G450 quad card. Those run about $650 new but you can get used ones around $200. My IT department threw away 2 of them with busted electric cooling fans - I wrote Matrox and they sent me new fans so cost to me was $0

Desk was free - my sister had it in an apartment after college and we took it because my fiancee liked it... I hate it but it was free :D

Eventually I'd like to upgrade to a dual quad core and run a second row of monitors up top - perhaps only two up top and three on the bottom - but we'll see.

  4. That's cool nkhoi!

I remember that when I sold my last house, when hosting open houses people came in and saw my 3-monitor setup (relatively rare back in 2000) they all said wow. Imagine if they had seen yours!!!

Now 52-inch plasma TVs are everywhere...

Actually, I just meant the cost of the three monitors and stand, but that is great that you got all the equipment you did at such a reasonable price!

Dang stand costs as much as a monitor. . . I have a great contact for Dell Quad Core computers if you need it. I buy a lot of stuff off of Ebay, and have been very happy with what I've gotten, and saved a good bit of money.

    Thanks.

  6. Prices are brutal but we have a ton of that stuff at work. Wasn't trying to brag by putting up prices - it costs what it costs.

I think I got a reasonable deal on my PC and monitors - the stand is worth every penny in my opinion. I don't know how I lived without it

  7. Here's my setup. I can't stand wireless mice.
Looking to add a third monitor once I get a bigger desk & room
