Hey! You use a gamepad for entering trades? I thought I was the only one! (I had never seen anyone else do it, crap I thought I was so unique and original). How exactly do you use it? Just for scalping, news/high volatility, or regular trades? Best trading, Jorge
Hi Jorge I use it with X-Trader. Alot of traders use gamepads atleast here in london. Traders are beeing hired here in london based on if they are good playing on plastation/xbox when you see those young lads trade it is just like they are playing a video game. X-Trader has options within the software for gamepads. I use it mainly for market orders / limit orders within 1/2 ticks either to enter, exit, or super quick panic exit or reversal. I find it much easier to use a gamepad. Also easier on your wrist. Regards Baldur
So true Baldur! By the way, nice station, but how do you absorb all that information at the same time? Or do you use most screens for a preliminary analysis and then concentrate on just a few graphs? Best trading, Jorge
Thanks, You are right I do not watch all the monitors at the same time I have my workspaces I use open and preset on each monitor, so yes bit like preliminary analysis. I use three monitors primary. Charts and quotes, news, trade entry. Same to you, Baldur
Hi, Mr Personal manager i want you to hire me as a trader so i can make millions and maybe finally get laid. I know i can do it because i know how to work a gamepad and look i still have zits on my face to pop when i get excited. Get a grip you children.
Hahahaha, that was funny BigHog, I like your smiley, where did you get it? Just for the record: -Trade for myself, not interested in a job -36 years old -Backpacked round the world... if you know what I mean -No zits, but hey I've been there! -Never had a PS, XBox, etc. and *almost* never played with a game pad (I'm more a keyboard guy), but... I find the mouse fine for entering orders, but way too slow for modifying them, particularly when you just want to move a limit order a tick or two down so you won't miss a move. I use NinjaTrader, which unfortunately does not yet support hotkeys (and thus you cannot program a gamepad for it), but I've been trying it with IB in demo mode and still I'm not there, but I think it's worth exploring. I just think that a gamepad (of which I'm not particularly fond) is better suited for the task. Still, I see your point. What do you use mostly, just mouse? hotkeys? Best trading, Jorge
