  4. So far, all your posts have been about "16 monitors" and a stock that trades for 10 cents.

Are we seeing SPAM on this thread from a trading computer retailer? Hahahaha.

  6. There's no value added in that many screens.

I just got 2 30" monitors which has been sufficien for my trading needs. I cant imagine having any more than that.
    IMO

  8. Agreed, having more monitors than your field of view is stupid. The whole point of having multimonitors is so save time by not having to switch between windows, if you have to spin arround just to look at the screens than it's a complete waste.

  9. what kind of card(s) are you using to drive those bad boys? I know you need dual channel DVI to get the resolution high enough. Was hoping to find a laptop with dual channel output for a 30" external. no such luck. So now I'll just get a 24" for my mobile office (i travel a lot).

Anyway, my main setup is old and was going to replace with four 24's, but maybe a few 30's would be "cleaner", and do the same job.

    Jay,

Just thought I'd jump in here. I have a 30" and I don't think it's worth it for trading. I would rather have 4 24" monitors over 2 30". The main reason being, if a 30" craps out for any reason, you just lost half your screen space until it gets fixed. I guess you can replace it with a new one and have a spare 30" lying around, but that's just wasted money. On the other hand, 24s are cheap enough where if one craps out, i wouldn't give a second thought to just buying another one and tossing the broken one out or giving it away letting someone else fix it.

By the way, I have a Nvidia Quadro FX 3450/4000 to power mine. I bought my entire set-up including computers at the same time from Dell. It was right about the time the 30" came out. There's a pic I posted somewhere in this thread.
