I am on a swing out to the west coast for a few weeks of trading, working on new projects and surfing. When I get back, I have a new Dell workstation to set up. 1 GB memory, whatever dual video card came with it, and I have a couple matrox G200's to add. I'm also going to add some accessories to get all my machines running under 20 decibels. Accoustic lining in the cases, new chip cooler and hard drive enclosures. www.silentpc.com The laptop is a Toshiba P25 with 17" screen. It's a full on desktop replacement. I got it to run automated systems on, but it is also great to trade from while traveling.
LOL....I had this picture saved from ET a while back. I think this was a trading setup by a guy named Dustin (maybe, I dont remember) but the file is named "Don"....Was he referencing Don Bright? If I remember right.....Dustin put a poster on his wall for inspiration (or is that a mirror). None the less.....lots of radiation sitting in that chair.
I hear you on the noise. I built a new PC last week. I used a CPU fan I had around, a Vantec. OMG, sounds like a hair dryer in there. Ordered an arctic cooling fan from quietpc.com. Came in today, can't wait to get it installed. I use Zalman case fans, they are very quiet.
