By pure chance I had dinner with Kiyosaki and his wife at Tomaso's when I was in Phoenix last fall...hubris was my take away of him. He said, "I only invest in three things: Oil, Gold, Real Estate!" I busted him out on his yahoo column from May06 when he said, "dump the funny money, buy gold!" He didn't laugh when I said, "nice call on Gold in May." Then I shifted to real estate and asked him what he's bought lately or looking at. "Oh us, we haven't bought anything lately. It's all too expensive. We did talk to the owner of this property (Tomaso's building/adjoining buildings), but he won't sell it because he makes so much money off of it." At which point I responded, "that's what I thought!" After that he relaxed with the condescending tone and we talked about real estate in Chicago and some other cities. PS - He brought up John Bogle (Vanguard) and talked about the merits of low-cost index funds. I let him off the hook there and headed out to enjoy the Phoenix nightlife.
That's great you had dinner with him and his wife. I'd like to meet them. I've only seen them at .the real estate expo in Atlanta. Ohhhh.....A spike in NatGas!!! Gotta go.
