  1. Welcome.

Hope you were able to get some good prices.
I think the going price was around $830 for all the parts and I was able to get them all for $600, thanks to eBay and FalconSoft.

Look forward to the pictures when you're done

  4. Just us nerds here

I only need 2.5 screens so I had to round up to 3 and then 6.
Really, it does not matter. A person can make money on 1 screen or 16.

Trade and take the cash :D

  5. Hey man, if you trade size....why not?

The guy can probably afford it. $4.5k is probably one day worth of work for him.

+ its an investment. Book it as an expense.

  6. Sweet, I got all the monitors today. nothing quite like seeing 8 LCD boxes together. (I ordered 2 different models, and they didn't cancel the order on time, so have to send 2 back.)

  7. Great!
I know you'll have fun putting it together.

It is much more work than I imagined.
Took me a week just setting up the panels. Alignment and pivot tweaking is the worst. Oh, and the cables.....
I have pure admiration for anyone that attempts to put together and align a panel array.

    Best of success!

  8. Here's a PDF (v6.0 and above) attachment that contains 3 pictures of the inside of the Stratosphere Icon

Note the 7 fans. The reason this computer is low noise is many large fans that rotate slowly.

Massive heat sink on the Quad Core CPU.
Fans for each 250GB hard drive (side/bottom of case).
