StockzTrader, now that we have someone who has the ultimate, I wanted to ask from first hand experience. Six 24" on one integrated stand, is that stable? The reason I ask is that I have a 2.5 year old son, and it would be a shame if I went with the whole 9 yards, and it gets knocked over/broken. Any thoughts now that you've been using it?
It seems pretty stable and rigid at ~200lbs in weight. Ergotron did a nice job on the base design with solid balance against the panel weight. Since I live in California, someone already made comment to me about stability. Although earthquakes are very infrequent where I live, it could be prudent to loosely affix the top portion of the panel array to a wall or other structure. Again, the array feels pretty stable. I'd suspect it is no more dangerous than many other objects in a home. Look for the news headline, "Trader dies when computer panel array crashes over his head in California earthquake"
lol, I wish you good health and long life on the LCD panels. good idea about securing the top portion of the panel to the wall. perhaps I could affix a thin piece of metal from the stand to the wall. it should be strong enough to stop a toddler.
Or you could just use a undone wire hanger put a screw in the wall and wrap or go vertical they sell cheap hooks that go into your ceiling a few of those or one on each side should prevent catastrophy
Maybe you have it.....hang it from the ceiling and your son can swing from the panel array. You'll get double duty from the panels and save money on a swing in the backyard
whats that you dont want a $1500 - 2500 dollar swing heres some simple solutions 1 super glue. 2 bolt it down. 3 lock the door 4 not convienant set it up in a closet then install a lock then also lock the room door. A child wont be a ble to get in and most likely neither will you.
all you really "need" for trading is 1 monitor and an internet connection. but it's fun, more of a hobby than actual need. like buying a porsche, or even a prius. you don't "need" to pay more to get you from point A to B.
