My trading station, circa 1980 (I think). Operation system was CP/M 2 floppies, no harddisk 64KB memory I had the stock data on SuperCalc. I tracked the moving averages, RSI, etc., on the spreadsheet. The calculations were done in split seconds, while my friends were still pounding the calculator keys late into the night. <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1140226"> It was a major improvement to what I was using -- a dumb teletext terminal connecting to the office computer through an acoustic coupler. The software was Minitab.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! Its priceless! I had one just like that too! Save it! One day it will worth a lot of $$$$$! Cheers!
WOW...thanks for that picture, it was my first computer too! I used SuperCalc and also bought a Pascal compiler...too cool!
Make it really valuable. Here's a copy of the unopened software: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Boxed-Super...oryZ4193QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This will give Sotheby's that extra piece of value for your ultimate auction price.
Yeah, c'mon, lets see some real trading stations, the off-topic stuff was cool for the first few messages, but is now just annoying.
riskarb Your post reminded me of my time at Swiss Bank on Black NeXTs and then at First Chicago on them too.... great machines for their time, shame it never worked out for them. Mac
