Physics proves the earth is only thousands of years old.

  1. What a load of old rubbish. Modern science, and in particular physics is in many ways completely at odds with common sense. Most people accept Einsteins theory of relativity, not because they understand it or because it follows common sense or "can be seen by any reasonable man", but because they have a belief that scientists abiding by sound scientific methods have good evidence for it. And peer review is part of those methods.

And if you think relativity is hard to get your head around, how about quantum physics. I'd suggest that a fair percentage of the population wouldn't have a clue about it, but those who know what it is accept it because of their belief in science, not because it rings some sort of bell.

Which is why science needs high standards including peer review.

  2. 1. Not all reasonable men are sufficiently trained to assess the technical nuances of whatever is presented to them. Without a proper means of assessment, there would be far more and lengthier trips down blind alleys. Progress would be that much more time-consuming. A trading system without adequate filtering would fall prey to all manner of noise.

    2. I don't think scientists are self-appointed.

You're just being argumentative for its own sake. If you had chosen the other side of this argument, you'd have a lot more to say. Meanwhile, you're in peil's camp, rubbing elbows with ET's goofballs on this subject.

  3. Rubbish.

Modern science, in particularly physics is in no way at odds with common sense.

A common sense man knows if you are looking on one level there is a reality for that level, and if you look at a different level there is a different reality.

It is the dimwit peer minded idiots who can't even do the science themselves who have put human beings called scientists on some superior level and worship the very ground they walk on...

I get it. People watch Peyton Manning throw the ball and are in awe. People listen to Eric Clapton throw down a lick and think he is a god. People watched Tiger Woods win a golf match and elevated him to some special person...

So people who can't do something in particular think someone who can is a superior human being?

Scientists put their pants on one leg at a time, their shit stinks, they are not above corruption or ego, they make mistakes, and in no way could a peer review produce a scientific fact any more than a bunch of fashion "experts" know what people should be wearing this spring based on the winter fashions shows in Paris.

Why don't the resident atheistic scientist bone heads just admit they swapped their faith in a preacher in their church as a child for the same blind faith in some bloody scientist's musings...

  4. Bunk. He is framed as a good Jew and follower of Hebrew scriptures...by good Jews and followers of Hebrew scriptures.

  5. You're not off the hook. You are trying to kill Go(o)d every time you insist Our Father created a world of time/mass/inequality. It does not matter how long anyone thinks it took. To think that it is real or true or valid in any way is to put another "god" on the alter of your heart, to whom you make sacrifice. What you aggrandize is really a lie of cosmic proportions. The Son of Go(o)d has more power in his little finger (so-to-speak) than the god-of-this-world (of time/mass)...and could make it and unmake it instantly and simultaneously. This is closer to the truth of the matter, so much so that its better to say that time is finished. It lingers (as an experience of ignorance) only for the ignorant, who do not yet welcome the truth.

  6. He is right peil, why are you trying to reason God into existence? Isn't it enough that you "know" ? :D guess not haha

  7. On the other hand, common sense might tell a reasonable man that there are not different levels of reality.

  8. common sense has nothing to do with reality or rationality.

“Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen.”
    -Albert Einstein

  9. Ha! Good one. Perhaps sense is as uncommon as sanity in a world where each one's mind is split into conflicting levels.

  10. “Common Sense is that which judges the things given to it by other senses.”

    ---Leonardo da Vinci---

Common sense is a matter of fact approach to our world, which factually appears designed.
