David H. Petraeus, the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, told lawmakers on Friday that classified intelligence reports revealed that the deadly assault on the American diplomatic mission in Libya was a terrorist attack, but that the administration refrained from saying it suspected that the perpetrators of the attack were Al Qaeda affiliates and sympathizers to avoid tipping off the groups. If asking why Obama's administration came out the following week making every talk show and news cast blaming the event on some trumped-up video is a conspiracy, excuse me. I guess lying to the American people in order to throw off the tracks to those involved worked, specially when the truth was being reported in other parts of the world..... them Americans must be dumb, the BBC reports it was AL-qaeda but they think it was in response to some video Do you really believe they bought that? The questions that need to be answered is why after pleading for additional security, the Ambassador was left defenseless, specially on the anniversary of 9-11, and in light of the fact that the Libyan government had told them of the terrorist buildup admitted that they couldn't provide the necessary security, and our intelligence knew it. Some one fucked up and it cost lives.... who ever that is needs to be made known.
Of course it was Al-Queda, but the question is, who knew what, and what could we have done to stop it. My sources in the military say there was very little we could have done.
