He has exactly zero chance. Smart dude. Well spoken. The upside ends there.

South Bend? His dude joking about grindr? Pitchers and catchers in the WH? Thanks, butt no.

  2. He waivered from that when he flopped out his absolute, nightmarish, rube goldberg plan as to how he would modify the structure of the Supreme Court. Wow, what a;n embarassing nightmare that is.

So, there is good reason why he might not want to get into specifics given his propensity to go behind just being intelligent and start spewing cerebral diarrhea.

And of course we are in the phase of the campaign cycle where candidates can get away with just doing meet and greets and saying that they hate Trump more than the other candidates. As the cycle progresses though, that bit about "almost never gets into speecifics, which is good" as you say..........turns into LET'S HEAR SOME SPECIFICS OR GO AWAY.

Whatever. Please give me someone that I can vote for other than Trump. Don't make me do it twice.

Yeah, right. I don’t see specifics being of any benefit to any democrat candidate considering their ultimate goal is to beat Trump. If they’re stupid, they’ll put out specifics. If they’re smart, they will make big promises very light on specifics.

Their fight is with a man that claimed he would build a wall from coast to coast that was 30 feet high and Mexico would pay for it.

  5. I suspect you're right. But he has conducted himself very well thus far. Who knows how far the pendulum will swing the other way in response to Trump's presidency. And who would have predicted Trump's prospects in the early days? It was a running joke.

I wouldn't bet money that Buttigieg gets the nomination. But I'd like to see him go far because he is indeed smart and well spoken, and his heart is in the right place.

  6. That may be their hope and strategy- ie. just lay low on the specifics and run against Trump.

Good luck getting through the primary with that approach though.

  7. A Trumper demanding specifics. Now that's rich.

It will be a lot easier getting through the primary just by making broad promises that are too good to be true.

You’re hoping that democrat voters are more scrutinizing than Republican voters. Good luck with that.

Next stop is free cable tv Canada will pay for.

  9. Your mind is not able to handle mutlple factors.

It is a given that any successful dem nonimee will be making broad promises that are too good to be true. That is a given.

Where we disagree is that you think that that therefore will head off any viscous hand to hand combat between the candidates to distinguish themselves from the others and to nail them down and take them apart. The fact that that phase does not come until primary voting comes does not mean that it will not.

  10. Which is more important to you? Retaining the Supreme Court and the Second Amendment or sending a message that you dislike Trump?

I'm beyond furious at Trump for presiding over an open border and massive illegal and legal immigration, after he promised the exact opposite. That said, I'm certainly not voting for some weirdo leftwing mayor of a small town because he has a glib delivery and sounds smart.
