So now we have the, it's too difficult argument. It's just too hard to check all those people. Much too hard to round them up and deport them all. That border? How the hell are we supposed to secure all that space? It's just too hard. Fine, then why bother? Let's just open it up and come one, come all. Just one thing my friend. You no longer get to complain about your precious tax dollars being used to educate their children. Give them health-care. Deal with criminal activity. Sorry, you can't bitch anymore. You guys love to talk in absolutes and the rule of law when it suits you, but when it doesn't, my o my, lot's of gray area. Plenty of latitude on this subject, eh? It's exploitation pure and simple, and saying it's too much of a challenge to resolve is nothing but a cop out.
Your argument is ridiculous, once again you seem to have problems with reading comprehension. I haave said numerous times that i support deporting all illegal immigrants, and guarding the border, as well as fining/imprisoning business owners who hire illegals. Hell i even support what Ricter had mentioned earlier, which was basically that people who hire on full time staff to take care of their house should be forced to figure out if the person is here legally. What doesnt make any sense whatsoever is throwing an individual person in jail because they didnt fill out paper work and wait 6 weeks for the government to respond just so they could have their lawn mowed once. I dont know how much clearer I can make it then that, and I expect you to completely miss the point again, just as you have been for this entire thread, so dont even bother responding cause im done going in circles with you, since you dont appear to be able to read.
I'll use your 2nd amendment slippery slope argument. Today you want my bazooka, tomorrow you'll be coming after my 12 gauge I use to hunt ducks. Today it's just some guy came by and offered to mow my lawn, I didn't need to check him out for a lousy 1 hour job. Tomorrow it's a crew on my roof laying down shingles. Hey, it was only a couple days work. Next day there's a crew framing houses. No problem, it's a small subdivision. Next week its a guy with a small job shop hiring 5 or 6 guys to run a punch press. No biggie, who wants to run a punch press for a living. And here we are. They planted their roots mowing the lawn, and now they're in manufacturing plants across the country. I can take you into any number of small manufacturing and fab shops throughout Chicago and show you 80-90% of their employees are Mexican, and about 100% are here on the sly. They're paying 10, maybe 11 bucks an hour, no benefits, horrible working conditions. It's wage suppression and exploitation for profit, and it's inexcusable.
I agree, you just almost never see one in the construction business. I've known or met four in my life time. The rest are neither decent, honest or hard working. I remember my father ranting once about how they're too stupid to do anything else. Years later I found out what he meant while building my house.
I'm gonna go with the captain on this one. Given the current circumstances, EVERYONE checking employee status is probably the only way. Now, if found to be here illegally can we shoot them on the spot?
There are many good construction people where I live, most are small independent contractors, one man shows to small shops. It takes intelligence and skill and dedication to be a good contractor it's a very tough business. One of the problems in construction is the really talented guys either start their own business and become your competition or they move on and work for a large corporation with health care and a guaranteed 40 hour work week. I won't hire a man if I think after I train him he will be my competition in a couple of years. I have hired guys in college getting degrees, I know they will be temporary help but they are smart and they probably will not be competition in the future. In the labor intensive trades like drywall, roofing and concrete the best men are from south of the border. It isn't a question of saving money it's a question of quality workers and right now America has a shortage of quality people willing to work in the construction industry. Again it isn't about money, a good roofing sub will make easily over $100,000 a year, this is the owner but the guys who work for him make from $600 to $1200 a week depending on the job. Plenty good enough money that should attract young American men. But you know what it doesn't and the ones it does you don't want on your job. And the really good ones can't get work from the established contractors because they will be competition and steal customers. I've been in this game a long damn time, this is how it works. Don't flame me I don't make the rules and I didn't set up the system, it is what it is. "I don't wear no Stetson But I'm willin' to bet son That I'm as big a Texan as you are" a Terry Allen song
You sure are awfully defensive and protective of illegal Mexicans. Did your daughter marry one or something?
Don't have a daughter. Thanks for asking. Hell go on a shooting rampage then, just try not to shoot any illegals under 12 years old.
