Performance Reporting

  1. I realized I have a problem to accurately report the performance of an account I use to build a live track record. The broker only reports equity in the account without taking into account marked- to- market open positions, this gives a misleading picture of the account (smooth equity curve) as larger drawdowns may incur because of open positions that eventually turn positive or are closed at small losses , those drawdowns don't get reported.

I assume the performance should always include open positions, isn't that how it works for CTA and hedge funds? Why doesn't the dealer (OANDA in this instance ) report performance as it should be ? My futures broker doesn ' t provide
account historical data in that format either so I was wondering if there were brokers or apps that do it for you (although I don't see how this would work if you can't get the intraday data from your broker) .
