As the movememnt of the markets is really unpredictable during those hours - how many of you fellow traders are trading the futures at this time?

Probably the better traders are avoiding those times, right?

should probably specify a time zone and which markets you are referring to. it's always between 11:30 and 14:00 somewhere...

  3. you mean the midday doldrums !

I trade them, I had never a problem to do so.
Some say that only the most expirienced traders "may"
trade them, I cannot say so. Sometimes it appears much
easier to me than e.g. the first hour, when you
don't have even 5 seconds to decide.

I know that in the grain pits at the CBOT, the activity level is no more than 20% of what it is closer to open & close.

  6. It depends on your style of trading ... I have found (proven through backtesting) that the setups and type of trading that I do have the most consistency between 11:30 and 14:00.
