Hospitals are actually more dangerous. "... the Journal of Patient Safety says between 210,000 and 440,000 each year who go to the hospital for care suffer some type of preventable harm that contributes to their death... I guess the moral of the story is if you get shot don't go to the fucking hospital. If the GSW doesn't kill you the hospital will. Did you know that in 1999 there were nearly 29,000 chainsaw accidents?
I do not disagree with the numbers of 50K to 60K gun injuries every year in the U.S. This shows the importance of handling your guns safely and properly. The NRA actually does a very excellent job in providing local programs that focus on gun safety and responsibility. Do you know how many people are injured using power tools every year; it greatly exceeds gun unjuries. If we want to ban guns due to gun injuries, then we also need to ban all power tools due to tool injuries, and all cars due to automotive injuries. Where will it stop?
There's a big difference. In those days, people (including the military) still had respect for the office of the president. After Obama, they don't. The military will stand with the people when the time comes.
Much different times then. In those days, military personnel were proud to serve. Today, our military's morale is at an all time low, and its basically just a paycheck. Sure, there will be a percentage of loons who violate the oath they swore to by pointing their guns at Americans, but a large majority will defect to be with their families.
