Its pretty serious... very cold in people's houses last night - where the power was out.

My brother's house was 40 degrees on the inside (outside of Houston)
He moved from San Diego for a golf job when his was shutdown here. In retrospect golf probably came back but not necessarily his job.

I would imagine that might mean they will find some elderly in bad shape when this is over.

"...You won’t find a bigger fan of Californians than Deborah Peoples, chair of the Tarrant County Democratic Party. She says she’s gotten so used to running into Californians in her native state, she can spot one just by looking at them.

“There’s something about the way they walk or something,” said Peoples. “I usually say ‘Are you from California?’ and 99% of the time I’m right.”

Hey, that's statism! (rascism). She should be censured?

  4. Having been around the block a bit in life with some of these mid-winter storms, I can say that when all is said and done the most deaths usually come from people running generators and the carbon monoxide. Rather than the actual freezing to death or trees down. Driving over downed power lines or using the plow on your pickup to move the downed power lines in the road is also a popular way to speed up natural selection.

It is especially important for people in areas that do not regularly get snow and freezing conditions to stay smart because it is the most common tricks that kill people. 1) Why don't I just burn some charcoal briquets in my fireplace....boom.... you iz dead. 2) "I know I cannot run my generator inside but I iz smart and will run it in my basement with all the windows open but still have the power upstairs." ...boom.....you and the entire family iz dead.

Yeh, the Winter Wonderland stuff is not all that it is cracked up to be sometimes.

    Enjoy.

  6. People made fun of Comrade Bernie and his mittens but he was actually displaying the time-proven method of surviving a cold spell. Just put a heavy coat on and some mittens, get really grumpy and scowl at the world until it passes.

Everything else burns up precious calories and the universe pays little attention to all the california type theatrics. If possible maintain a steady intake of lobster stew to maintain homeostasis and give thanks for the fact that the cold weather holds the black flies and mosquitoes down just a smidge.

It is the poster child of libtards and their green energy. It is the poster child of why the current clean energy tech that is available will never work. It is an example of why the new green deal is so retarded and that only people with extremely low IQs think that it is a good idea.

Well, the wind turbines turned out to be least of the problems with Texas’ power supply.
