You either pay on the front end or you pay on the back end but you always pay. Texas also has notoriously bad state transportation systems. This too will bite them in the ass as it will stymy their growth potential.
The amusing part is that they are jacking up the rates retroactively. Screwing all of their residential customers.
Texas and CA are not the only area with energy Grid problems. Last I read... an emp or a very large solar flare... could (some theorize) knock us back to the stone age and cause 90 percent of us to die. And apparently we can fix this vulnerability at a low cost. --- Now before you go yelling at me... I am not vouching for this... I claim no expertise... but 2 years ago I heard with my own ears multiple energy people validate the risk... but not necessarily agree with the magnitude of the risk. here is a bit about the risk here. There are other more alarming articles on the net. https://www.enr.com/articles/42151-what-is-the-chance-a-solar-storm-could-knock-out-the-power-grid#:~:text=The biggest recorded solar storm,, by some estimates, years.
I see. The Texans are being environmentally conscious and not using salt and de-icing chemicals on the road.
