  2. I am not as committed to trying to fit the issue on a bumper sticker.

In some states- let's call one California- you paying people multiple times over and they are complicit in creating the problems that are supposed to be fixing. They pay taxes up the ying yang but the government furthers forest management or lack thereof practices that promote fires electrical shortages. And it has been established many times over that the utility company is the cause of some of the biggest fires leading to electrical shortages. So they are paying both the government and the utility company to take it up the bobo.

California has its own list of electric utility problems. They are entirely different than Texas' list of electric utility problems.

Both states bear fault for the state government policies that led to their particular issues.

We're talking about government services as a whole.

    Tree,

I'm sure there is a correlation to income and services. No income from income tax, less services. You can probably graph it.

The efficiency or productivity of these services from state to state most likely vary considerably.

    Crazy in Texas...

Just saw images and videos on TV about homes in Texas...ceiling fans in the homes with one foot icicles hanging down from the fans.

    What the fuck !!!

This is the same Republican state that would make fun of California rolling blackouts.

    Damn...that's big time KARMA.

That is so far from the truth. Why did they switch from coal fired plants to natgas plants?

If Texas kept the coal fired plants, would this have happened?

The report claims that by switching Texas' coal-fired power plants to natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants, Texas could save as much as 60% of the freshwater it uses for electricity generation. ... It would not only reduce freshwater consumption but it would also reduce air pollution, thus improving air quality

A good portion of electricity delivered to customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin areas is provided by wind farms in West Texas. With extreme cold weather, those wind turbines cannot operate, thus causing a shortage in renewable energy available for use.

There also aren’t enough natural gas producers in the state to make up the difference when those wind turbines aren’t available,” said Harral.

That is a quote from a CEO of a renewable energy company.

Just throwing this out there while people are thinking about utilities and infrastructure...

We need regional water grids. On the east coast we throw fresh water into the ocean while the Midwest suffers drought. As climate changes we will need to manage our water a lot better.

Interesting to note that those claims about windmills were totally debunked as junk when the facts were produced. Even the governor had to walk back his bullshiat.

Rawstory is simply pure left-wing political propaganda. No one that is reasonable would consider Rawstory a news source. Do you think that you suffer from confirmation bias much?
