What is the "This" you are referring to? You mean socialism is the Christian way? Or that we should not have a strong defense for this country?

Giving away money is charity, which is a good thing to do and belongs to the individual. The state should be focusing (among others, like defense, etc) on helping individuals make money in an honest way. I'm not saying that the poor should not be helped, but politicians who get elected on the promise to take your neighbor's money and give it to you are a menace to the whole system because then society falls apart.

  6. Yeah! Let's replace those big-government statist Democrats who openly admit their intentions with big-government statist Republicans who pretend to want smaller government, and then do everything in their power to do the exact opposite! That'll fucking help.

  7. You have a point. However... if the choice comes down to accepting that my freedom and financial life will be destroyed over a short term or over a longer term, I'll choose the latter.

Let's all be clear... the Dems and Obama are Hell-bent in plowing us as deeply into Socialism as fast as possible... in case they lose the House majority.

At least the Repubs recognize what's going on and are "pledging" (however credible THAT is) to stop as much of it as they can. (Watch for Cap-n-Tax + Illegals' Amnesty + Financial Reform to be passed before the '10 election.. and a VAT shortly thereafter if they hold the majority.)

Without a revolution, we need to give the Repubs another shot and see how they deliver...'cause we're surely all dead.. and SOON... if the Dems stay in power. The Repubs, here, are the lesser of evils.

  8. Maybe so... but I gave up on voting for the lesser of two evils a long time ago.

The Dems (turd sandwich) are guilty of constant expansion of government power from an egalitarian/class warfare standpoint, while the GOP (giant douche) steadily increases federal control over our lives in other ways whenever they have the opportunity to do so. Patriot act, no child left behind, RAVE act, federal prohibition raids on medical marijuana dispensaries holding legal state licenses, 'your papers please' law passed in AZ (and don't think for a moment that only illegal aliens will suffer from this), banning online poker- the list of recent gov't intrusions into our lives spearheaded by Republicans goes on and on.

Under the current system, the only real way to slow down the process of gov't swallowing us all, is to create as much gridlock between the two parties as possible. Clinton in the White House and Gingrich running congress seemed to work far better than any one party monopolizing power. If good leadership isn't possible, divided/infighting leadership is the best we can hope for at this point.

  10. And who can blame them? Innner city living is the modern day plantation, and has been for decades. You now have many generations of black folk who know nothing else. Many have no understanding of the world outside their ghetto. Standing in line for the government check IS their job. Plenty of money and political power to be had keeping these people scared, ignorant and broke.
