LOL. It's hard to believe I'm talking with a fully functioning adult here. Where the hell did I say (or even imply) that money doesn't matter?
So money does matter?? GOOD. Now, do you really think socialism is the way to make money? Do you prefer a system where the money gets sucked from everybody's pocket and goes to the corrupt government and its friends? OR, DO YOU PREFER CAPITALISM?
Buzzy, that is a far too complicated topic to discuss on this thread. I would be quite happy to begin another thread and talk about my views on these issues, but given that the typical response to the slightest suggestion that capitalism, as it practised in the US today, may not be the greatest thing to hit the earth, that improvements to it could be made (they have usually stopped thinking by the time they get to those), is a barrage of "pinko commie scum" like insults, I am somewhat reluctant.
There are definitely improvements to be made, but I find doubtful that we can get ideas from the same people who turned a rich prosperous country into a pathetic beggar country in less than 100 years... If you dropped the arrogance and adopt a thing or two from Americans maybe your country could get out of the hole it's in right now.
Im surprised Alf doesn't agree with you ...after all, he did not want actions in Yugo, iraq or somalia because it's not our problem....HMMmmmm???? seems like a typical liberal double standard to me...you see Alph actually felt that the vaporizing of kurds was 'an Iraqi problem not ours"....when pressed further, he admitted we should not be involved in those other places either......so which is it???? let me see if i get this strait: It's wrong for America to tell these third world dictators what to do .....but we have to support them economically and bail out their banking system every five years or so.........choose one or the other.......I'd agree with him if he would also agree that the US should END all foreign aid to ALL countries..
You've previously given the impression that you're too young to have undergone some great philosophical awakening or transformation. Your comments - such as the ones I mentioned in my post - consistently display immaturity, a lack of seriousness and perspective that would be somewhat easier to forgive in a young man than in a mature adult. It's not just that I disagree with virtually everything you've said, but also that I disagree with the flippant and shallow way that you say it. I find your consistently dismissive attitude toward human suffering - of the Kurds, other Iraqis, the people of Afghanistan, even the pathetic suicide bombers and their eventual victims - much more offensive than your political views. It makes your "left wing radicalism," which is a meaningless pose if separated from a true concern for the wretched of the Earth, come across as sheer hypocrisy.
Msfe, will you ever learn to reply to a question by giving a straight answer ? What is wrong with Alfonso that you appear to be upset by me speculating that you and Alfonso are one and the same ? BTW, I am a real existing person, not a figment of someone's imagination. freealways
--------------------------------------------------------- Quote from Babak: I would recommend you either shut the fuck up or put your money where your mouth is and go and visit a police state. --------------------------------------------------------- msfe, I have lived in a police state and escaped because my family wanted a better life for their children. I know what it feels like to live in fear, to see family and friends disappear...etc. I still remember running with my Mom clutching my hands as bullets whizzed above our heads. That was a walk home from school I'll never forget. I've also lived through war. I remember the curtains drawn at night to not let light seep through and alert bombers. I remember looking up at the ceiling and wondering if you would have time to see a bomb crash through before it killed you. I remember the deafening sounds of AA. I can go on and on.... But to someone like you who has lived a pampered life these are mere words and mean nothing. That is why I recommended you go to a police state and look into the eyes of people. That's where you'll find your conscience and truth. Not in the pages of The Guardian.
so, you should know how Iraqi moms and kids feel - being massacred by Bush´s bloodthirsty colonialist mercenaries
