  4. Because Ukraine is critical to our national defense? Ukraine is another country where we just had to meddle and foment a coup which tossed out Russia's man in charge. No doubt he was awful but the ramifications were worse, an invasion and revolt. This is just another in the long list of idiotic interventions and general meddling our Deep State has carried out, all with horrifying results, eg Egypt, Libya, Syria, not to mention Iraq and Afghanistan. All to "make us safer" or as budding neo-cons like Rep. Crenshaw recite, "to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here. " Hate to break it to you congressman, but all the major terrorist attacks here were carried out by people who got here more or less legally. They got on airplanes and came here, or in the case of the Ft. Hood attack, were officers in the military and known to be whack but kept around due to PC.

We have the same vital national interests in Ukraine that we do in Syria, ie none. Voters see that and demanded change, but the Deep State said no.

  5. Uh no.

First of all Taylor's "testimony" reads like his pitch for a book deal. And it's the same as every Washington memoir "If only the idiots had listened to me..."

He is a career State Department drone. His job is to implement policy, not make it. His real beef is revealed in the first few paragraphs of his statement. He is a neo-con who believes we should be fighting wars everywhere, particularly if we can get in Russia's face. The voters had a different view and elected a guy who promised to change that.

In addition, Trump had every right as President to demand cooperation in investigating the attempt by the Obama administration, the Clinton campaign, foreign powers and a shady bunch of spies to interfere in our election and annul it. Ukraine was ground zero for a lot of this, not to mention the home of infamous CrowdStrike, the only people who were allowed to examine the DNC servers after the supposed Russian hack.

You'd think the media would be demanding such answers but they are obviously laser-focused on bringing down Trump and protecting the corrupt Obama administration. But hey, "democracy dies in darkness", so the WashPost lectures us every day.

Yep. And now looking back, the sell-off actually started around 1PM, right when in the heart of this testimony. Go figure.

I realized I posted that looking at the nasdaq chart for the day and not the futures (which are down but not terribly so).

That's just because its the retail pajama party right now... you can't unload a huge position with no buys underneath. Lets see what happens when Europe opens... and then the U.S. open. We'll see.
