Fake News Network reports that Pelosi is currently huddling and is about to make an announcement about starting a formal impeachment inquiry. Let's get this thing going pussies!!!! I dont want to hear any, "we will be monitoring the developments before the committee and will proceed as warranted after a careful examination of the issues." Nope, let's get going. CNN is saying that "we are about to hear from the Speaker shortly." Not sure whether that will be Pelosi or AOC.
Could be. I must say though I wonder how much impact that Guiliani and others are having by saying that they will not appear unless there is a formal impeachment voted upon. Congress can work it in court but they know that that will push this whole thing well, well into a time frame when they wanted it over with. That is not pretty for them. Nor is it pretty to vote a formal impeachment which would give the republicans equal power to subpoena and examine. I dont know. There are - an understatement here- a lot of moving parts. If Pelosi goes forward she will put a bold face on it and assert that "we have no choice but to do our constitutional duty." Meanwhile it is absolutely clear that she does not want to go down this road and she has plenty of dems begging her to not do it.

Yup. And when and if they get the votes, she still does not want it. So it's a mess. The timing is bad for them now. They started getting more support for impeachment because some dems were fooled into thinking that they could do a hit and run and have it over by the end of October. They would vote and then allegedly the Senate would just kill it the next week. And then it would not go into the core of primary season. Not gonna happen. One of the risks they run, among many, is that if the Horowitz report comes out while there is a Senate trial that they will use the trial to excruciatingly review all that material and follow up on leads. The dems think that the biggest risk is that the Senate will just dismiss an impeachment charge the first week they get it. Man are they mistaken, one of the biggest risks is that they will not let go of it once it arrives.
