When Pelosi was asked "Why now?" on impeachment when she hadn't been in favor before, she replied that this was the incident that would be most understood by The American People. --In other words, she felt that she could sell this one. ----That's exactly backwards though isn't it? ----Shouldn't The American People be the ones selling Congreff on impeachment or anything else they want done?

First, I'm not sure I put any faith into an unofficial white house released transcript that "isn't verbatim" but from memory of those on the call. So Trump can use that as a claim nothing happened, but that doesn't mean shit as it isn't reliable. It's like saying a thief is innocent because the thief showed someone a note from his mom that said he was home asleep.

But no matter what Trump said about the probe, as long as it wasn't quid-pro-quo, it doesn't matter. Its not illegal.

  9. This whole thing is absurd. Trump apparently told the Ukraine president that Biden was bragging about getting their prosecutor fired and what went on with that anyway.

We just went through one witch hunt where we were repeatedly told that it was not at all improper for Obama to run an investigation of the Trump campaign that relied heavily on foreign intelligence services and was based on phony oppo research.

But for Trump to ask a foreign leader to cooperate with the DOJ is an impeachable offense, etc etc?

The Washington Post and a corrupt FBI agent, "Deep Throat", managed to stampede cuck republicans into forcing Richard Nixon from office. I don't see that happening here, but it's no secret that establishment republican senators would love to be rid of Trump and go back to the ways things were, ie selling out their constituents for big business. This is where Trump could end up needing his base, but he has alienated a good portion of them through failing to build the promised wall and general ineffectiveness on immigration. Attacking his onetime biggest fan, Ann Coulter, certainly isn't helping him either.
