Bill Petersen@WBPetersen Trump's Syria pullout lured the big ISIS rat out of his hole and ... boom! October 27, 2019 Trump's Syria pullout lured the big ISIS rat out of his hole and ... boom! ByMonica Showalter In some cheering weekend news, ISIS'sbig terrorist chieftain, founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was rendered into that proverbial grease spot on the desert floor. He won't be missed. It's a victory comparable to the military rubout of al-Qaida founder, Osama bin Laden. According toNBC News: The world’s most wanted terrorist, Islamic State group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was the target of a deadly U.S.-led raid in northwestern Syria, sources told NBC News early Sunday. Forensic testing is underway, but officials believe al-Baghdadi is among the dead, the sources said. A U.S. Special Ops mission targeted the ISIS leader near Barisha, Syria, overnight. The mission included helicopters, jets and U.S. drones, the sources said. The U.S. fired from the air and then landed and gathered intelligence, the sources said. Several others were also killed in a convoy. There were no reports of U.S. casualties. So much for all that "expert" opinion in the last few weeks in the mainstream media that President Trump's pullout of U.S. troops from Syria would inevitablybringthe recrudescence of ISIS. Even Saturday Night Live mocked that one, and on the night of the rubout, thatdidn't age well from even the first minute. Trump has just shown that it's not always necessary to stage troops on foreign land to be effective. In reality, the ISIS leadership just got decapitated, something that's going to have an impact on global terrorist operations. They just lost their big fish. It almost makes one wonder if the terrorists themselves were fooled by the media/expert naysaying. The terrorists, who are known to be voracious watchers of CNN and other mainstream news, decided that Trump was a wimp, a pacifist, a non-fighter for pulling U.S. troops out; Trump wouldn't fight them, they thought, leaving them with a field day. The coast was clear and it didn't take long before they popped out of their holes. Boom. That was a mistake. Such was the suggested thinking ofone military expert featured on Fox News, (hat tip: Roger Luchs, who also helpfully sent us the link), clear enough for even a baby to understand. Seems Trump had them covered all along and chose the just-right moment to lure them out of their rats nests, blowing them to hell. And leaving egg all over the faces of the so-called experts. With pacifists like this, who needs warmongers? Dude, seriously? you must be embarrassed with that one. They seemingly got the location months ago after arresting his wife (one of them). "Months of planning" until Bone Spurs needed a boost. "Officials who spoke with The Times praised the Kurds for continuing to provide intelligence to the CIA even after Trump announced the US retreat, which ultimately didn't hinder the Syrian and Iraqi Kurds in providing more intelligence for the raid "than any single country," one official told The Times. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday that despite the months of planning, the decision to execute the mission came within a day of the strikes. "It wasn't until Thursday and then Friday the president chose his option and gave us the green light to proceed as we did yesterday," Esper said, adding that he didn't know whether US forces could have executed the strikes if American troops been completely withdrawn from Syria." Well he has his little bump on the market before it just dropped again, the first baseball game he has attended (what timing) as president did not go so well.
So as the dust settles it seems information of the mission was given to a few key Democrats, just not Pelosi, Schumer & Co. To these individuals, kudos for keeping security above partisan politics.
Are you seriously suggesting that anyone would have leaked this? You are on another planet. Speaking of leaks, or rather not leaks. @lylec305 "Lyle the Crocodile" who said he knows my nieces from a few posts back has a link to his own meetup group (as "Kyle".. bit odd?) in his ET profile. He uses that unique name all over the internet and in his business so he has no concern about keeping his identity secret. If you want to set up your "own personal hedge fund" call Lyle. Or if you have some really old database that needs migrating maybe?
As discussed in the impeachment thread, the impeach issue/"process" should be before the House Judiciary Committee- not the frigging House Intel Committee. The dems put it there because Intel Committee rules provide for more secure and non-public proceedings for obvious reasons. But not for impeachment. The politicization and abuse of that process has implications for the issue in this thread too. There used to be sort of a sacred trust among individuals of both parties on that committee who could keep their fucking mouths shut and keep politics out of it when secret missions were in motion and other similar matters. So they were the go-to place to be able to talk to some people in the other party. No longer. They have turned that committee into political dem hack clown show so that is not an option for the President when communicating on such matters. He and his administration have to shop around and see if they can find someone who can put country before party. And believe me, when it comes to the dems, that requires a lot of shopping.
Treefrog speaking to Wallet teaching who he his junior and hoping for a like? "But not for impeachment." because it is not impeachment. That comes next at ... Will Wallet correct his elder? As Treefrog would say, stay tuned viewers.
Why not the intelligence committee for impeachment when the president has a history of obstruction of justice? Donald Trump is a criminal. Look at the retaliation he is engaging in against the person who blew the whistle and witnesses in the Mueller investigation. He engages in intimidation and character Assassination. How many associates of Donald Trump and his campaign are in jail or indicted or awaiting sentencing? These people are not to be trusted. No. Trump is beyond “normal” and the democrats controlling the House need to take whatever measures is necessary as a coequal branch to protect their inquiry and their witnesses. No way they should open it up to the trump thugs to corrupt it.
This thread was started on the false assumption that NO democrats were notified of the mission. Apparently that’s incorrect. Pelosi’s rant was that she/Democratic leaders were not informed thus denying everyone of their superior leadership. Guess what? It wasn’t needed. As much as I’d like to agree with you that no one would divulge security matters, we’ve seen repeated leaks of information, thus erring on the side of caution is the proper action. Besides, all Pelosi wants is to be able to take partial credit.
Yep but Trump could have stated that, not gone out of his way to brag he did not inform them and flat out say the Speaker of the House was not to be trusted and the head of the House intelligence committee (who kind of do need to know?). So... by the way, who did he inform? you have not given a source. Had it gone tits up of course... Trump would have been afraid he could not spin it.
Totally rambling post by you. Just a bunch of marbles you rolled out on to the table to pretend to have a response. No points made whatsoever - and given your lame post I am not asking for any from you- as to why the impeachment process should not properly be before the Judiciary Committee.
