PDT rules have destroyed me.

Discussion in 'Trading' started by qdz, Nov 20, 2002.

  1. 1. I did write a complaint. (They must not have read it)
    2. I could really care less because I trade prop
    3. I find it interesting how such innane rules and laws can be passed

  2. A lot of people here have objected to what they call "moaning, crying, whining" about these daytrading restrictions.

Well no matter how it may seem to you, I am not "whining". People come on here and ask questions and make statements. I try to respond to those questions, and when I think it is necessary, to the statements they make. That doesn't make my remarks whining.

Unless the Elite Trader forum decides to start requiring $25,000 minimum account funding for membership here, the pattern daytrading restrictions and discussion of them and how they affect traders are a quite relevent issue to the concerns of being a small trader in the market.

Those people who do not feel the daytrading restrictions are relevent to themselves because they are not affected by them are welcome to skip over any threads concerning the PDT rules.

But please don't keep coming into these discussions saying "why are you people still whining like little babies?".

There are many discussions on Elite Trader which are not relevent to me personally. But I don't go into them and say "Gee why are you people still whining about E-Signal (or whatever)".

If you feel the discussion of PDT rules and their effect on those traders who are affected by them is not relevent to yourself, simply skip over the threads concerning it.

If you claim that you're sick of someone like myself "constantly complaining", by all means do yourself a great favor and put me on your Ignore List. If you choose to continue throwing jabs at me for trying to discuss an issue that is relevent to me (and to others), I'm not the one wasting your time, you're the one choosing to waste your time.

All the people who feel compelled to enter a discussion they themselves have no personal interest in just to accuse those who do have an interest in it of being "whiners" and "babies" are in fact the ones doing the pointless whining.

I'm sorry I had to write this message, but it's all true.

  5. Doogie, try finding a message thread where your QCOM dealings may have some relevance. They have no relevance here

  6. I am disgusted reading these posts from people on the right side of the 25K rule justifying its existence and feeling themselves to be superior traders based upon some new governmental blessing. While I find myself on the lucky side of the 25k wall, I am horrified by this rule. The best justification anyone cited, was that the PDT rule was a poor attempt at PR after the shootings. No other business has formal capital requirements to even start. Restaurants and other small business also fail at alarming rates....

The key unanswered question remains who really benefits from this???

Metooxx posted the below quote on another PDT thread. I repost for benefit of the holier than thou 25K+ers.
