  1. Short, sweet and to the point.....

If you are from Colorado, please write Ben Campbell and Wayne Allard by clicking <a href="http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=CO">here</a>.

Everyone else, find your Senator by clicking <a href="http://www.senate.gov/index.htm">here</a>.

    Hello Wayne,

I was a constituant who helped you stay in office. Now hear my voice. The Securities & Exchange Commission PDT rule has got to go. Please do not forward my concern to the SEC, it will be ignored. Please have one of your staffers read the following information on the http://www.elitetrader.com website. I'm a small investor and the PDT rule is clobbering me. It's no wonder this market can't get out of the doldrums.

  2. hey,

this guy just might have a point, what with the new congress in session, and their leanings towards less government involvement

    Dear Mr. Colvin:

Thank you for your recent letter concerning the Securities and Exchange
Commission. I appreciate you taking the time to write.

As you may know there have been recent controversies regarding Chairman
Harvy Pitt and the appointment of William Webster to the Public Company
Accounting Oversight Board. Due to these controversies both Harvey Pitt
and William Webster have resigned their positions.

We must have a strong, vibrant SEC to address any illegal activities
committed by corporate officials as part of the recent scandals. There is
virtually no difference between a "corporate" kingpin and a crime boss
when it comes to the overt disrespect and abuse of American consumers and
    investors.

I believe the SEC is an important agency. I also believe the new Public
Company Accounting Oversight Board serves a valuable function and their
operation must not be compromised. For this new board to be successful it
must be both strong and independent. As a United States Senator I will be
sure to review the President's nominations with care to ensure our goals
    are met.

Again thank you for taking the time to share your opinions with me. I
will continue to keep your thoughts in mind as we create the new board.

    Sincerely,

    Wayne Allard
    United States Senator

Do they just use some kind of optical scanner and generate that form letter whenever the letters S-E-C are detected? While I have no problems with form letters as a general rule, a misused one like that really makes them look stupid.

I wonder if I'd get the same letter if I wrote him and recommended that he try to get the Colorado Buffalos to leave the Big 12 and join the SEC...

Good to know these guys are listening, lol.

  6. You are wasting your time, unless you are a four figure contributor or represent a pressure group with a history of delivering votes. No one is going to stick their neck out to allow daytraders to lose their kid's college funds, which is how most pol's view this issue.
