The DMS59 cable looks like a "splitter"... and several eBay sellers incorrectly describe it as such, but it's not. Each connection is for a separate port the same as if there were 2 ports on the backplate of the video card.
Quoting wiki: DMS-59 is a 59-pin electrical connector generally used for computer video cards. It provides two DVI or VGA outputs on a single connector. An adapter cable is needed for conversion from DMS-59 to DVI or VGA, and different types of adapter cables exist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMS-59
hey guys i missed out on the 28$ nvs290 pcie x1 but i did come across an old geforce 8400gs x1 in my old video card bin...i just never knew the small pins are a pcie x1... so anyways i pop the card in, it recognizes the card and loads the drivers...it works but only displays 1 monitor or the other thru the dms59 cable what gives? i tried a dual dvi dms59, a dual vga dms59, tried s-video...it recognizes the 2 monitors but will only display one or the other? any help? thanks again b i runnin win 7-64, nvs290, fx580
well so far got the dual output workin on the 8400...just updated the driver and voila... happy new yr b
had to unplug from the 8400gs x1 as all the monitors were in sleep mode after reboot sunday afternoon...weird...must be some sort of driver conflict so after removing 8400gs x1 card and upgrading win7 -64 drivers for nvs/quadro cards finally got everything working again but not sure what will happen when i reboot this week? will same problem return (all monitors in sleep mode) any known driver issues? otherwise all apps worked well today except didnt try excel yet
