This is the smartest thing he's ever said. I just hope he sticks to it. The US already has the FHA and FHLB to provide mortgages. And who ever said that every american should be a home owner? Low income housing should be provided but beyond that let the free markets determine who should get credit. Heck, we should go back to the days when houses were paid for in cash! Inject some real risk premium where it belongs!
The real problem , that no one will ever talk about, is that this great country CARRIES great numbers of useless , toothless vermin, and allows them a lifestyle they are in no way entitled to. The problem is there are not ENOUGH poor. Everyone is a massive consumer and waster , no matter how little they actually contribute. This is where much of the debt comes from. Check out the food stamp, medicaid , and welfare crowd. Not to mention the illegals polluting the hospitals. You are being owned.

Even people who get mental health services are now called "consumers".
