But don't forget about Monroe Trout, although I believe he is retired now. He was at Niederhoffer's NCZ Commodities as a newbie. Wonder if 'Surf was able to interview him too? :D

I used to play basketball with Monroe at a friend of mine's house in New Canaan, CT. Couldn't believe it when I read about him in Barron's just 4 short years later and managing $400 million dollars. He was only 28 at the time. Very well mannered and "even-keel" kind of guy; didn't show his emotions like PTJ.

    An amazing success story.
Reportedly worth close to $1 billion.
Funded Rand Financial Services, a futures/options clearing and execution firm owned by the Bermuda-based Tewksbury Investment Fund.

in defense of et - in amongst the bickering you get to exchange texts with guys who were "market wizards" and other well known or large traders.

Then you have guys who traded with them. Were friends with them or interviewed them.

By the way if you read some of landis's posts you know he knows something about trading.

And if surf did not develop a crush on all the guys he interviewed you would probably see surf has a lot of connections and trading info.

ET is far from a waste. And while it did not happen because of my posts at ET...

I did once have my trading comments next to my contact info on another site. I got calls from multiple market wizards and I met some of the largest traders at the merc because of it.

The legitimate trading community is very small - if someone thinks you are serious and legit you never know who might contact you.

I'd pay it. Maybe even more. If you filter through the bullshit, it's well worth it. Cases in point: Optioncoach's journal (I feel old saying that), Weinstein's journal, Dustin's comments on the Price Action thread.. I could go on and on.

Ya gotta dig to find nuggets.

And I have no idea why Baron can't simply charge a nominal subscription fee per month. I guess he's more concerned about generating web "hits" rather than being merely a notch above a Yahoo Finance message board.

I've actually had a beer or two with Dustin because he lives "near" me. A most experienced and valuable trader and resource, for sure. We only scratched the surface in talking about the markets, but you can tell from his posts here on ET that he knows what he's talking about. We could use more people like him on here, for sure!

    :)

  8. Freaking ridiculous. An advertising based model blows away any subscription type.

Good content starts with YOU. Little girls. Whawhaaaaawha

I asked the guy who posted it at YouTube if it was legally posted and got a squishy answer. I would link to it if legal. That said, everyone here with a pulse should realize it comes down to if PTJ wants it out or doesn't mind. It is a great video. I have had it for years.
